Of course, you do not have to wait until you are pregnant to test yourself for gestational diabetes. You can simply do it any time so that you are prepared for whatever comes next.

Including of Protein in Regular Diet

Another way to effectively control sugar during pregnancy is by including lots of protein in your diet. The two most important nutrients for regulating blood sugar levels are omega-3 fatty acids and protein. It is important to ensure that you get enough of these two nutrients in your diet. However, the best source of protein is going to be fish. Make sure that you eat plenty of fish and give your body all of the proteins it needs. Other great sources of protein include chicken, lean beef, eggs, soybeans, nuts, and other types of grains.
